Unlocking
Tourism Innovation

Since the early beginnings, people have been travelling. The tourism industry has always adapted to social and technological developments. Today, however, the challenges are more complex and interconnected than ever before.

The quest of the Tourism 4.0 initiative is to unlock innovation potential by enabling collaboration among all stakeholders of the smart tourism ecosystem, co-creating enriched experiences with the support of key enabling technologies from Industry 4.0.

Data for the Common Good

Long before inclusive and sustainable tourism became widely discussed, the Tourism 4.0 initiative placed local inhabitants and their quality of life at the centre — and has done so for more than 10 years. Within this framework, we inspire a strong R&D spirit to develop solutions in which at least part of the data and the generated value are shared with local communities.
